Leading Change

What Will You Learn

As uncertainty, extreme complexity, and continual market shifts become the norm for today’s leaders, leading and managing change requires new ways of thinking and new behaviors. This course takes the “tried and true” best practice models for leading change and adds “next practices” – the new behaviors and roles leaders must master to build and sustain their organizations in this new order.

The course uses a variety of vehicles – readings, case studies, and experiences -- to engage you in timely, real business scenarios; and to provide you with the latest research, relevant models, and practical ideas for effective change management. Special emphasis is placed on the human impacts of change, including the roles of organization culture and symbolic communication.

Over the course of the day, you will generate new insights and learning that will help you:

  • Sharpen your critical thinking skills in assessing the scope and impact of change.
  • Develop practical structures and approaches to leading successful change initiatives (and managing the obstacles).
  • Diagnose the micro-behaviors that may be keeping you from optimal, ongoing change management.
  • Create a toolkit of approaches and roles that you can use for engaging and leading the people you need in environments of uncertainty.
  • Re-energize your own passion for building a resilient and adaptive work group or organization.
