David Donnelly is the Assistant Dean of the Bloch School at UMKC, as well as Professor and Department Chair of Accounting. He is a PhD graduate of the University of Illinois and received his B.S and MBA from Kansas State University. Donnelly is a past member of the board of directors of the Accounting Programs Leadership Group (APLG) and a current member of the board of directors of the Federation of Schools of Accountancy (FSA). He also serves on several other committees of the American Accounting Association, the APLG and the FSA.
Donnelly has received numerous research grants and teaching awards, including Beta Alpha Psi Outstanding Faculty Award, 2003; Kennedy and Coe Outstanding Research Award, 2002; BKD Excellence in Teaching Award, 2002; Kansas State Bank Award for Outstanding Contributions in Teaching, 2000; and Commerce Bank Undergraduate Teaching Award, 1997. He has publications in leading accounting, business, and educational journals, including Behavioral Research in Accounting, Advances in Management Accounting, Journal of Forensic Accounting, Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research, CPA Journal, The Woman CPA, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Issues in Accounting Education and Journal of Accounting Education, and others.
