Laura serves as the 1^st Vice President Elect of the International Listening Association and has worked as a consultant for over 20 years. She received her Ph.D. in Communication with an emphasis on Listening from the University of Maryland at College Park and her work focuses on Conversational Listening in a variety of contexts, including Business, Education, Healthcare, and Legal. Laura has studied in depth the brain’s structure and processes as well as their effect on listening and communication. Her current research focuses on listening capacity, culture, facial expressions, and one’s willingness to be influenced. Laura’s work has been published in over 15 national and international publications as well as, 40 national and international papers.
